Understanding Anti-Slip Tile Ratings: R9 to R13 Explained

The R-rating (R9–R13) measures slip resistance using the ramp test; higher numbers mean better grip on inclined, wet surfaces.

R9–R10 suits dry indoor areas; R11 is recommended for wet rooms, kitchens and pool surrounds; R12–R13 is used for barefoot wet zones and industrial settings.

ALISCAPE anti-slip tiles use structured and sugar-glaze (dry-granule) surfaces to achieve R10/R11 ratings without compromising cleanability.

Specifying the correct R-rating is essential for compliance with local building codes in bathrooms, spas and outdoor walkways.
